Paintball Gun Reviews

Paintballing is a sport that is clearly on the rise, and this fact is no better exemplified than by the staggering array of paint gun models that are out on the market today. It can be quite a challenge to decide which of these models is the right one for you, so we have put together a review of some of the best entry level Paintball Guns plus a mention of one particular model that you can check out when you are ready to step up to a more serious model.

I am going to assume that you are a beginner in the paintball gun arena or else you would probably have a clear idea of what you want, so we will be restricting this article to the basic models. Make no mistake though: these guns offer superior bang for the buck and you certainly will not go wrong with any of them.

First up is the Spyder Victor. Manufactured by Kingman, this is the company’s lowest end model. Although quite basic in form and function, it can hold its own quite admirably, even when compared to other guns in a slightly higher price range. Not particularly notable for its speed, accuracy or consistency, it is nevertheless a good entry level paintball gun for the beginner, due to its upgrade friendliness.

Another Spyder graces our review, this time the Spyder Victor II, which is a few steps higher up the scale than its more basic sibling, the Spyder Victor. Just like the previous model, the Spyder Victor II is very customizable and is also quite affordable and fairly reliable.

The Stryker STR-1 is noticeably better designed than either of the previous models, and comes with a lot more accessories to boot. A semi-automatic paintball gun, the Stryker STR-1 features a superbly designed feed neck and a very comfortable fore grip. It offers all this while still remaining fairly inexpensive, making it a good choice for the beginner. On the downside, the Stryker STR-1 does not feature any upgrade options and the trigger pull is somewhat on the long side.

Finally, when you are ready to move up to the next level, yet still want to stay on the affordable side of the fence, the Tippmann A-5 is worth a closer look. Durable, dependable and very customizable, there is simply nothing that can compare to the Tippmann A-5 in this price range. The built in Cyclone Feed will allow you to fire an amazing 17 balls per second.
