Shocker Paintball Gun

The Shocker Paintball Gun is a paintball gun manufactured by Smart Parts Paint Marker. It has built up a steady following in recent years for its solid feel and long effective range. It is also one of the quietest firing paint ball guns available today, and is one of the few paint ball guns around that almost never breaks paint balls.

The shocker paintball gum weighs 6lbs which is quite heavy for a paintball gun. The addition of the 20oz bottle and regulator adds two more pounds. The length of the gun is 8 inches when measured without the barrel and 23 inches with the SP barrel attached. The addition of the gas through stock takes the total length of the shocker paintball gun to 30 inches.

The shocker paintball gun is comprised of two major components, the body assembly and the grip assembly. The grip assembly is where the electronic components of the gun are located, among them the dual function arm/disarm switches, the solenoid valves, the trigger assembly and the remote trigger assembly.

The body assembly in turn is divided into six parts. The lower left section is where you place the batteries. The Shocker takes 4AA batteries and Smart Parts estimates the battery life expectancy to be approximately 75,000 to 100,000 shots, although they suggest that the batteries be changed every month. While rechargeable batteries should work fine with the Shocker, these only put out a functional voltage of about 1.2VDC compared to the 1.5VDC that alkaline batteries put out. So for optimum performance, it may be best to stick with alkaline batteries.

On the lower right is a chamber that contains the firing mechanism of the gun. Right between this section and the battery housing is a gas manifold chamber. A bolt assembly, two solenoid valves and the top mounted sight rail rounds out the rest of the parts of the gun.

As I mentioned earlier, the Shocker is amazingly solid and stable, rivaling many other paint ball guns in a higher price range. These attributes, along with the fact that this gun rarely breaks paint balls, make it capable of continuous play, more so than any other paint ball gun around. The extremely long range and ultra quiet performance further enhances the Shocker’s appeal as one of the most enjoyable paint ball guns to have in your arsenal.
