Sniper Paintball Guns
The widespread appeal of paintball games nowadays is possibly something that even the most hardened paintball veteran did not expect. Evolving from methods used by cattle farmers and forestry rangers in order to keep tabs on their herds and property, paintball has rapidly blossomed into the multi million-dollar industry that it is today.
Attracting a score of combat enthusiasts and would-be soldiers in its early years, the sport today is enjoyed by virtually everyone, from white-collar professionals to housewives, and even children. Paintball truly has something that appeals to everyone and the future of the sport is brighter than ever.
As you may have expected from such a wide-ranging and multi-faceted sport, the range of paintball guns commonly used has broadened over the years as well. Beyond the simple “marker” guns that were virtually identical to the ones used by forest rangers and cattle farmers, the range has expanded to include automatic and semi automatic paintball guns, electronic paintball guns and now, sniper paintball guns.
Sniper paintball guns allow the player to shoot long distances while remaining under cover from enemy fire. This adds a whole new element of realism and action to the game, and serves to make sniper paintball competitions even more accurate than they were before.
Sniper paintball guns come with a much longer barrel, typically 21” in length, and a sniper scope. Some models will offer the option to include a remote line that connects directly to the stock and possibly an anti-shock mechanism.
Easy maintenance, quick loading, and of course superior accuracy across long distances are some of the qualities that make for an ideal sniper paintball gun. In the heat of action on the playing field, you simply do not have the time for lengthy cleanup operations in the event of a broken paintball or an equipment malfunction.
When shopping for a sniper paintball gun, look for a model that offers a firing velocity of 200 to 300 feet per second, and can shoot across a range of 300 feet. Effective range will vary from model to model, but 150 feet is a good ballpark figure to look out for. Of course the more options you have for upgrading, customization and trigger assembly modification the better. These factors will ensure that you will be able to use your sniper paintball gun over a wide range of applications for as long as possible.
